I purchased this to repair a 1989 268xp with a cracked crankcase. Fit and finish were great.
If using to repair an older saw like I did, the new case uses fine thread bolts for the cylinder mounting vs. Coarse thread on my old saw, so new bolts may be needed. Also, if your case has a sintered bronze oil tank vent in the case under the muffler, ypu will need to obtain the newer 272xp style oil tank vent tube.
Overall, fit together great and got an old saw back into service.
