So I received the Piston head in the mail. Everything appeared to be as it should be. I rebuilt the chainsaw put it all back together and it refused to start and was very easy to pull. I found that it was not getting adequate compression because even though it appeared to be the same size using my caliper I found that it was 1.42 and found that the original for the Stihl MS 171 was 1.5. which is enough to make it not fit as snugly and not have good compression. The Piston head may look nice but it will not function in the chainsaw that it says it will. Unfortunately cannot recommend
