Generac 5500 Generator November 5, 2013 Reviewer: Douglas Pugh from Whitehouse, TX United States   the sorry gas we have no with 10% ethanol ate away the gaskets and corroded the needle valve in the carburetor on my Generac 5500 generator.  I could find no carburetor kit to rebuild it. I found out that Generac motors are a clone to Honda motors and that  a Honda GX390 will inter change with my carburetor so I bought one and it works GREAT.  The manual choke does not interchange from my old carburetor but I can work choke by hand on the Honda carburaor.
