⚠️ Installation Note:
When installing, ensure the starter pawls on the flywheel are clean and moving freely. Overtightening the mounting bolts can crack the plastic housing; we recommend hand-tightening until snug and then applying a quarter-turn with a T27 wrench.
🛠️ Mechanic's Tip:
If your starter rope is pulling out but not retracting, the spiral spring inside has likely slipped or snapped. While you can replace just the spring, on the 8010/9010 series, the plastic pulley often wears down simultaneously. A complete assembly replacement is the most reliable way to avoid "dead-pulls" in the field.
